Cattle/Livestock
A Cambridge University study found that sheep—like humans and some primates—could pick up emotional cues in humans and in other sheep. Not surprisingly, they preferred smiling and relaxed expressions over angry or distressed ones. Visitors to our farms have experienced this phenomenon firsthand, as the sheep will commonly flock around human guests who display openness and warmth, and return those emotions in kind.
We are a Registered Red Angus seed stock cow/calf operation. We are dedicated to offer our customers performance cattle that are balanced in all traits, structurally sound and phenotypically correct. We strive to provide well-balanced cattle with strong maternal traits, which is a priority in the Red Angus breed. We want well rounded females that are good uddered, functionally sound, and reproductively fertile while also boasting a solid structure, a quiet disposition, and sustainable performance.
At the nucleus and multiplier level, teat counting has been part of our final selection process for at least a decade. Mothers of the next generation must have a high number of functional teats and this is tested by letting her nurse as many pigs as teats during every lactation. We register individual birth and 14 day weights of all piglets to measure the milking ability of the sow.
All of the chickens we sell are started pullets that will be ready to start laying eggs as soon as a few weeks after you get them. We will ship your order to your local post office anywhere in the US.
